BioBorn in Russia, Rei used to be a small boy. He was cheerful and out going until his parents put him in, an intensive care facility. They took "care" of him and eventually started to experiment on him. He never knew what was going to happen because they had drugged him so many times.
During the experiments, he had died, only to revived again, this happened continuously 5 times.
The experiment they were trying to work on, was fuzzing Animals with live Human children.
They hadnt succeeded, until Rei joined their little "group."
The scientists took the children, sedating them continuously until they couldnt wake up for a rather long time. What they did after....was pretty horrible, specially for little children. They would cut up their skin, into small miniscule pieces, so then they could practically put them back together again.
What happened with Rei, was that, his skin was torn completely off, but his neck up, elbows down to his hands, and his feet. He was soon put back "together" and at the same time, with cat ears.
When the poor 14 year old woke up from his "sleep", he had cat ears, sewn to his head, skin sewn on every part of his body, with the thread still in it, because other wise, he would have died and would be skinless.
His ears are very perky, and actually move with him, and on their own. The scientists had figured out how to connect his nervous system to the cat ears they had cut off of a Snow Leopard. They are white with black spots on them.
He has a tendency to hide himself from people, though doesnt like to wear clothes, so he normally just wears a long shirt or just shorts, showing off his body to the world. He hates his body, but knows that if he wants to live, a "normal" life, he'll have to deal with it.
It's hard for him to comprehend because of how he was made, but now, in Germany, he wishes to find someone who will like him for who he is, not for what he looks like.
